A sobrado above the bay
Casa Bela is an old São Filipe townhouse, a few streets back from the water, with a terrace that catches the last light before the sun drops behind Brava. Two of us look after it, and we live close by, so you'll have real people to ask about anything on the island.
Inside it's a proper sobrado: high ceilings, thick walls that stay cool through the afternoon, and shuttered windows that open onto the street below. There are two bedrooms and space at the table for four, plus a full kitchen if you'd rather cook than eat out. Most people end up on the terrace anyway, coffee in the morning and something cold at sunset.
You're in the middle of São Filipe, so you can walk everywhere. The market, a couple of cafés we like, and the small shops are all a few minutes on foot. Below the town is the black-sand bay, and in the evening the terrace looks straight out over the sea to the island of Brava, which is where the sunsets happen.

Good to know
- The house is in the old part of town, on streets that climb a bit, so pack light shoes for walking.
- Check-in is in person. We'll agree a time and meet you at the door with the keys.
- It's a working town, not a resort, so mornings can be lively with market noise. We think that's part of it.
- Bring a light layer for the terrace at night. The evenings off the water can turn cool.
Room details and photography are a working placeholder — the final specifics and a real shoot come from the hosts.
